A little ray of Sunshine
One of the books that has provided a constant source of encouragement to me (naturally, other than God’s Book) is a book called Daily Light. Perhaps some of you have heard of it or even have your own copy. If not, I would highly encourage you to get your hands on your own copy or use this online source for daily light from God’s Word.
This little book provides a morning and evening entry filled with verses taken from selected places of the Bible relating to a certain subject. For example, this morning’s entry read,
_________
“And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so theLord shows compassion to those who fear him.
You have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.—But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. . . . So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.
Luke 15:20; Ps. 103:8-13; Rom. 8:15, 16; Eph. 2:13, 19

Great truths from God’s Word. I like to call this book my “Good Morning” and “Good Night” from God. It is a wonderful way to saturate your mind with Scripture first thing in the morning and right before bed time. It has definitely been a ray of sunshine in my life.
And speaking of rays of sunshine, thank you all for your kind and encouraging comments on the previous post!
You all made my day and strengthened my heart. Thank you, thank you.

I'm Kaysie, 22. Jesus follower. Lover of sunshine, trees, hot tea, books, music, family, the gospel, poetry and Barnes and Nobles. Has a weird obsession with paper. Over-analyzes almost everything. Adores simplicity. Lucky for you.

It’s a pleasure to encourage you Kaysie (though I didn’t comment on the last post). You yourself are such a blessing. Thank you for conforming to the way of our Lord. I thank God for you.

A book that does such to encourage me is His Princess, by Sheri Rose Shepherd. Sometimes, I need to much to read “Letters from my King.” I can always find one to minister just when I need it most!
