6th Grade Poetry
Yesterday my youngest sister and our cousin were schooling at the kitchen table together. One of the assignments was to write a poem using their spelling words. This poem my cousin wrote was too cute and original to keep in a school notebook, so I asked if I could share it with you all. Enjoy.
Spelling Poem:
In the river the slime looked like a crime
and it was a very hard clime but it didn’t cost a dime.
Then the bunny took and runny with my money.
I thought I was tough enough to stand on the bluff,
but it was really rough.
Then I found out I like to dance the Dangle Tangle Wangle at an angle!
Then I found out that my leather hates the weather
but as long as we’re together I feel like a feather! The End.

Awww….Little kids are so cute when they write! My fav part was ‘The bunny took and runny with my money’.
Aww! That is cutest poem I ever read! Every line made me smile=) I wish I was as creative your cousin….
Blessings!

I know! Isn’t it the sweetest?! I was smiling ear to ear when I first read it.
Poems are so sweet when written by youger kids =)
Looks like you definitely have another blogger in the family. So cute!
Yes, I definitely think she is a poet in the making, Ella.
And I think she will make a great blogger too, Leslie!
tell your cousin that her poem was really creative and cracked me up! I especially loved the part about dancing the dangle tangle at an angle! If only all 6th graders could use random words so well!
Speaking of random, I think I’ll end this comment!
